Geological field trip

On Sunday, January 3, 2010 our group of 13 "petroleum engineer" students, led by Professor Habib Belayouni took a geological field trip to the region of Kef, (north-west of Tunisia). Samples of oil source rocks have been collected.

Visit to Schlumberger & SEREPT

On March 17, 2010, our engineers from session II paid an instructive visit to Schlumberger and Serept in Sfax.

Visit to SIDI LITAYEM production site

On March 31, 2010, our petroleum technicians paid a visit to the production site of Sidi LITAYEM, followed by a visit to the drilling rig and to a developing well of CFTP in the region of SIDI Bhar. The team was accompanied by Mr. Moncef REKIK, CEO of CFTP.

SIPS 2010, great success for OGIM

The International Oil and Services exhibition which opened its doors on April 16 through April 18, gave OGIM the opprtunity to hit a record of visitors and participants, as well as to build up new contacts and refresh old ones. Mr. Jalel HADHRI had the opportunity to speak to his Excellency the Minister of Industry for a few minutes and briefly explain the success factors of our Institute. We were also very pleased to note the presence of some of our students who attended this landmark event and gained an insight into the realities and developments of the oil sector.

February 2012 - Good news for "Drilling Engineering" Promotion

Companies present at the meeting of Friday, February 3, especially Weatherford, Schlumberger, SEREPT, CFTP and ETAP have expressed their intention to contribute to the success of the session "Drilling Engineering" 2012 OGIM by organizing visits and conferences.
Some expressed their intention not to let efcape the opportunity to recruit drillers among the graduating class.

February 2012 - Round Table "Drilling Engineering" Program

A roundtable was organized by OGIM Friday, February 3 with the participation of ETAP, the SEREPT, CFTP, Schlumberger, Weatherford, Viking. The program of the new session "Drilling Engineering" was presented at length by Mr. Othman SLIM and discussed by the experts present.
A broad concensus has emerged from discussions that focused on several important points and details of the program.

Decembre 2011 - Article about OGIM in éJeune Afrique"

December 2011

The new Institute TPI (Tunisian Petroleum Institute) starts in January 2012. It will be managed by the same team and same Scientific Committee than OGIM and will be specialized in basic training diploma. In the future, TPI will ensure all long training with a opening on the Maghreb and Africa. Two new courses start in 2012: operators in TATAOUINE and drillers in Monastir. OGIM will specialize in training for companies. TPI and OGIM will be synergistically.
